Latest researches have found that estradiol a main estrogen in body e,ffects our working memory and response inhibition .The test was performed on rats .Now working memory is the temporary memory which is temporarily used while doing a work for example remembering of phone number while dialing .
The research has been produced by University of Illinois .They found that the part of brain that is prefrontal cortex which is responsible for controlling working memory and response inhibition is affected by this estrogen .

The study has profited them a lot because it give them a base line for measurement of effects of other estrogen as one found in soybean named genistein .Now a days women are using genistein drugs to prevent from hormonal therapy which is more problematic in cause of postmenopausal having hot flashes because taking only estrogen and progesterone is the main cause of breast cancer,cardiovascular disease,blood clot,stroke etc.They found that the the estradiol produced mixed results that is it enhances certain cognition for example spatial or place learning also simultaneously hindering the other ones like learning .They are working to find an estrogen which only enhances not hinder any cognition.
