As everybody knows that WEST NILE VIRUS is a genetic process or mechanism which produces about 10 proteins by using it’s genetic material and depends on the host to construct everything other it needs .Erol Fikrig and his colleagues at Howard Hughes Medical Institutefound that their are about 300 genes which affect WEST NILE VIRUS he also find that more than 20 genes which cooperate with virus and others which help resists  it .They also tested the related dengue fever virus in search of genes which are important to both virus .The results are reported in an online publication of the journal “Nature “.

BASIC OF GENES

In the beginning the people were very amazed from the thing that why a horse gives birth to a horse and not a man and why the offsprings have the characteristics same as of parents but this mystery was solved by an Augustinian monk “GREGOR MENDEL ” in 1865 .He find that the individual traits are determined by small discrete “FACTORS ” called “GENES “.The genes are the factors which are inherited from parents to offsprings .

Mendel started his study in agricultural breeding by taking a parent of known genetic background so that he get the baseline and than compare the traits with that baseline .He studied on different traits of a pea plant and found that alternate traits was specified by alternate genes .Further, studies showed that pure breed plants must have two copies of same genes for an individual trait .He also studied that cross breeding of pure breed green seeded and pure breed yellow seeded produced only yellow that is genes are not blended .He also founded that the hybrid contains both green and yellow color producing genes but the gene which is “dominant”over the other will be responsible for color .

Studies show that their are large amount of diseases due to chromosomal abnormalitiesand study of this plays a very important role in medical field .So we will now completely discuss all the chromosomal abnormalities and various inheritance .

GENETICS-THE BASIS OF INHERITANCE

Genetics is a term which relates with the term “GELESIS “ who’s Greek meaning is “DESCENT” which further means the process of “GOING ON ” .Genetics is the breathe of biology.It deals with heredity and variation .

HEREDITY

It means the features attained by offsprings and siblings from their parents .The features like color of hair,height,color of eyes etc.

VARIATION

It means some slight changes in the features acquired bye the offsprings and siblings from parents .However this resemblance is not 100 % . Mono zygotic twins are genetically alike .Moreover offsprings of single parent formed by mitosis posses exact copies of genetic character of their parents .These are carbon copies of their parents and are called RAMETS and their group is known as CLONE .

Genetics is the door which provide a way towards the mistry that how the characteristics are transferred from  generation to  generation and provide information about the substance on which these informations are carried .

Latest genetics progress enables the scientists or genetic engineers to manipulate the characteristics and make an organism which is best suited to our needs and environment needs .
